I don’t know how these guys consistently get it so right, but they always do. I’m not just talking right, either. I’m talking righter than that. I might never think to pick up these two records, were I even to see them sitting in front of me. But now that I have them, I’m happy I do, and I will not let them go. They’re mine.

It’s exciting every month to get my Black Box shipment. And I usually wait until evening time (listening time) to open the box and see what I got. I don’t usually listen to records during the day. Because I don’t drink whiskey during the day. They go together like beans and mayonnaise. Anyway, here is this month’s shipment.

Black Box Shipment for March 2022

Ministry is a personal favorite of mine. I saw them live once at the Sportatorium in Dallas, which was actually built for wrestling matches. It’s a somewhat small venue. Well, something had happened that Ministry was supposed to play somewhere else and it got rained out or canceled or whatever. So they brought all their shit to the Sportatorium, which was enough shit to power Texas Stadium. Needless to say, it was loud. I might have that night to think for my tinnitus.

And I’ve never heard of Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, but I’m extra excited about this one, because I love Electric Blues and good old-fashioned R&B. I don’t mean today’s over-produced-put-eleven-notes-into one words horse shit either. I mean stuff like Muddy Waters. Diana Ross. The Commodores. Gimme gimme gimme.

Thanks Black Box Record Club. You’ve made me a happy boy today.
